Balls - Technical Information - Hobby and Engineering
BallsPeople often refer to balls as "ball bearings". This is incorrect. A ball is just a ball. Ball bearings contain balls just as roller bearings contain rollers. Balls and rollers are known as the "rolling elements" of a bearing. Balls are used in many applications other than bearings. Some examples include valves, floating covers, decoration, ball transfers and the retractable ends in ball plungers. MBA provides balls in many materials including steels, plastics and ceramics.
