Reinforcement in some timing belts

KevlarTM fiber is an extremely tough yet flexible material. Its tensile stress response axially is linear and elastic until failure. In the transverse direction it's stress response is nonlinear and nonelastic. The strength of kevlarTM is far superior to that of fibreglass thus making it a stronger choice for timing belt reinfoircement. The cost of kevlarTM reinforced timing belts is usually higher than those reinforced with fibreglass.
