Titanium CP

HES Products made from this material
Nuts, Screws, Washers (Grade 1)

Titanium is a metalic element. It is light, strong and corrosion resistant. It has very good corrosion resistance to seawater and chlorine. Titanium can be alloyed with other elements such as iron, aluminium, vanadium, molybdenum and others, to produce strong lightweight materials.

Commercially pure titanium contains very few impurities but is not always the strongest choice. Titanium alloys like Grade 5 - 6AL-4V are often much stronger choices, but they often differ in other aspects. Charts of chemical resistance, mechanical properties and corrosion inhibiting properties should be consulted.

Commercial Pure Titanium

Commercially pure titanium is approx 40% lighter than steel but still has a high strength. It is an excellent choice for applications requiring good corrosion resistance.

The main component is Ti (Titanium) with the additional elements shown in the following chart
