Precision - 440C Stainless and 52100 Chrome Steel

These tables cover ABEC and ISO tolerances for ball bearings.

Abec 1 or ISO P6 gradings apply to all precision bearings in our catalogue made from SAE52100 or 440C Stainless Steel unless otherwise specified.

The section of our bearing part number that specifies the grade is found near the end, preceded by the country of manufacture code. The following list shows most of our country/precision designations.

  • gr3: German made Abec 3 precision
  • j3: Japanese made Abec 3 precision

  • grP5: German made ISO P5 precision
  • jP5: Japanese made ISO P5 precision
  • s5: Swiss made ISO P5 precision
  • uP5: US made ISO P5 precision
  • gr5: German made Abec 5 precision
  • j5: Japanese made Abec 5 precision
  • s5: Swiss made Abec 5 precision

No country of manufacture is specified in the part number of Abec 1 bearings since they are the most common bearings and supplies may be obtained from a number of different countries as required by demand and/or pricing. The majority of our Abec 1 bearings are Japanese manufactured. A manufacture code is printed on the label which can be used to determine the country of manufacture of a particular batch.

Each table covers either inner or outer ring tolerances for a defined size range as specified in the headers
